students study on their laptop

In support of the health and safety of our students, our instructors, and our staff during the Covid-19 pandemic, LMU Summer Programs has made the decision to move entirely online this summer.

As always, we are committed to providing you with an engaging and enriching academic experience and look forward to welcoming you to our online community of scholars this summer.

  • Yes. We have extended the deadline to Friday, May 22, 2020. Visit the LMU Application Portal to complete and submit your application.

  • All summer courses will be transitioning to an online platform. You can view our full program offerings here. We will reach out to enrolled students individually, should any change arise.

  • The content and curriculum of our pre-college courses have been adjusted to ensure an engaging online learning experience. All courses will contain lectures, guest speakers, group work, independent student work, class presentations, and more.

  • A computer and access to the internet are your main requirements. Unless otherwise indicated on the course description, any required books or course materials will be mailed (or emailed) to you prior to the start of the program.

  • Yes. We will have optional online activities, workshops, and events so you can hang out with classmates virtually and learn more about the LMU student experience. Stay tuned for more information from the LMU student ambassadors who will be leading these sessions!

  • Yes! We look forward to hosting our pre-college programs on campus again next summer.

  • Yes. While we will certainly miss seeing you in our online community, we understand that this program change may impact your decision to participate. If you wish to cancel prior to your program start date, we will offer program deposit and final payment refunds for those who have already paid. It is important to note, refunds are for program tuition only and do not include travel expenses. To initiate your cancellation and refund, please log into your LMU status page using the credentials created when you applied and submit the request for cancellation form. Once requested, students will no longer have access to our online classroom. Please allow four to six weeks for processing.

*Refunds must be requested prior to the start of your session. Requests initiated after the start of your program cannot be refunded.

  • We have reduced the cost of our summer 2020 programs to reflect the change from on-campus to online. A two-week, non-credit course is now $2,400 and a four-week, credit course is now $4,650. Visit our Tuition and Fees page for details.

  • If you paid your deposit, your final balance has been updated to reflect the new amount due on your LMU status page. Please login using the credentials you created when starting your summer application.

If you already submitted your full payment, you will receive refund for the cost difference. For example, if you have already paid a $350 deposit and a $4,450 final payment for your two-week, non-credit class, we will process a refund for $2,400. Please contact us at if you have questions.

  • Yes. We have extended our enrollment deadline to June 15, 2020. Final payments and your completed, revised enrollment packet will be due by this date.

  • Yes. A new enrollment packet will be sent to participating students to reflect the online learning changes for summer 2020. This packet must be returned no later than June 15, 2020.

  • You no longer need to submit proof of insurance to participate in our online programming.

  • There are opportunities for currently enrolled freshmen and sophomores to defer their enrollment to summer 2021. Please email our enrollment team at for additional information.
