On-Campus Activities

Free weights with Loyola Marymount University's logo sit at the Burns Recreation Center on campus.

While studying on campus, students will have the opportunity to see collegiate life through the eyes of an LMU Lion. Their summer stay is filled with an array of social activities that will give them a chance to meet fellow program participants and enjoy all of the amazing opportunities the campus has to offer.

Program fees include access to the Fritz B. Burns Recreation Center, a state-of-the-art fitness facility that houses a fitness center, group fitness studios, multi-purpose courts, tennis courts, and an Olympic–sized outdoor swimming pool. In addition, the center is home to the Finish Line, where students can purchase energy bars, juices, protein shakes and check out facility equipment.

A couple things to keep in mind when planning for student use of the Recreation Center:

  • All students must complete the Burns Recreation Use Waiver prior to their arrival on campus. If a student is under the age of 16 his/her access to the facility will be restricted to use of the pool, multi-purpose courts and tennis courts. We are sorry, but we cannot provide access to the fitness center or group class studios for students under the age of 16.

    • If a student is a minor, the form must be completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian.
    • Students who do not complete the waiver will not be given access to the center. Once on campus, students will be expected to sign in with the front desk every time they enter the facility.
