Transitioning Into College: Media Literacy, Storytelling, and Academic Writing
Summer 2026
This two-week summer program will introduce you to college academic culture through the lens of media. You will explore how media shapes public opinion, influences culture, and impacts representation. Along the way, you will develop practical skills such as visual storytelling and media production to create compelling content.
The program includes interactive workshops, engaging seminars, and small-group discussions. You will also participate in community learning projects that help you apply what you learn in real-world contexts. These experiences are designed to build your confidence in navigating college-level coursework, thinking critically, and producing media that matters.
By the end of the two weeks, you will not only understand how media works, you will know how to use it to tell impactful stories.
